Enjoying Ghost

It has been a long time since I felt kind excited about a blogging system. I believe that WordPress is quite powerful, but always felt somehow not a great fit. The database set up and constant vulnerabilities always turned me off.

I've been looking for a way to write about all my interests in a way that would allow me to set up a subscription, and while sites like Gumroad are great for finished products, it seems again, not a great fit for me for subscriptions.

Ghost is a site I contributed to a very long time ago (2013) and I had some kind of lingering account there that prevented me from joining again recently. But a quick email to their support team got that cleared up and I'm giving it another go. I hear that many substack folks are trying this out as well so I feel I'm in good company.

I have my own static sites at andreww.xyz and triptych.neocities.org but this ghost site seems to fill that area where I can post content and perhaps make a dollar or two?

It also helps that I am writing this on write.as without having to log into my Ghost account because Write.as has cool integrations. This also gets posted to Twitter and the Fediverse as well! Heck, I can even fwd this to dev.to via the RSS functionality. It's quite nice!
